A GLOBAL FINANCIAL POWER-HOUSE

Following the disbursement of €1,114,000,000.00 financing granted by British Petro, Ribera del Duero Vineyards will produce in its several regions throughout Chile, quantities between 5 and 6 million hectolitres per year, or 1 billion bottles. Ribera del Duero Vineyards will have the world's second-largest total vineyard area, behind Spain for the position of being the world's largest wine producer. Ribera del Duero Vineyards' wines will account for 7.6% of world exports within 5 years. It will hold about 45% imported wine market share in countries like India and China. Ribera del Duero Vineyards will be managed with a large nod to biodynamic principles and organic agriculture, with tractors recently being replaced by horses to reduce the compaction of soil. In the premium areas yields will be very low, at around 25 hl/hectare, and they will harvest the grapes later than most vineyards in Chile. Minimum intervention in the winery will allow an entirely natural vinification. There will be no de-stalking of the grapes, which undergo a very long cuvaison - up to a month - and fermentation will be carried out at relatively low temperatures. Ribera del Duero Vineyards will have its private supply of oak from the Troncais forests. 100% new oak will be used and maturation time depends on the quality of the vintage. New oak will be used to eliminate any possibility of contamination which might result from older casks, and to marry the unique qualities of the fruit. There will be no filtration and if racking off the lees is required this will be done by gravity from cask to cask, never pumped. If the wines need to be fined, then fresh eggs will be used. The wines will spend sixteen to twenty months in wood before bottling. Both assemblage and bottling will be done by gravity and usually cask by cask. Jobs for Chile The €1,114,000,000.00 project will generate about 2,200 permanent and 9,000 temporary jobs.
